Features BearerMail additions
What the fork adds on top of upstream plMail. For everything plMail itself does — accounts, calendar, filters, themes — the upstream handbook remains the reference.
Drive
Personal file storage built into the webmail, Google-Drive-style: grid and list views, folders, file-type icons, search, and drag-and-drop upload. Files live under /app/var/uploads/drive on the server (default quota 5 GB per user, configurable).
- Folders — nested folder tree, rename, move, delete.
- Uploads — drag-and-drop or picker, with progress.
- Compose integration — the compose toolbar's Drive picker attaches a Drive file to a message, or drops in a download link instead of a heavy attachment.
- Calendar integration — attach a Drive file's share link to an event's description.
Share links
Any file can get a public download link: right-click / ⋯ → Share. Each link can have:
- an optional password (visitors must enter it),
- an expiry — 1 day, 7 days, 30 days, or never,
- a report button for recipients, and click counting that de-duplicates repeat visits.
Shared links render as a proper page — the file with a Download button — not a raw download. Manage or revoke links from the file's share dialog; expired links stop working on their own.
Share links are bearer URLs: anyone with the link can download (plus the password, if you set one). Don't put anything sensitive behind an unprotected link, and prefer short expiries for one-off shares.
On-the-spot aliases
Create a working email alias in one tap — no admin, no waiting. In the web UI: Settings → Aliases → New alias, or straight from the composer's From menu.
- Type a name (
shop@yourdomain.com) or generate a random one (shop.k3v9x2ma@yourdomain.com). - The address is live within seconds — the mail server picks it up automatically — and you can select it as the From address immediately.
- Delete it any time under Settings → Aliases.
Handy for signups: one alias per service, and when the spam starts you know exactly who sold your address — then delete just that alias.
Mail-server admin
- Admin → Mail server — configure the outbound SMTP relay (host, username, secret) from the UI; the MTA picks it up within seconds, no rebuild. Clearing the host returns to direct delivery.
- DNS checker — verifies your MX/SPF/DKIM/DMARC records from the admin area.
- DMARC report parsing — aggregate reports land in a readable view instead of raw XML.
- Public IMAP — port 993 with TLS, so any mail app can connect directly to your domain mailboxes.
Security extras
- Forged-sender warnings — banners on messages whose From doesn't match the authenticated sender.
- Deceptive-link warnings — flags when a link's display text doesn't match its target.
- SMTP keys — per-device SMTP credentials you can create and revoke, instead of sharing your mailbox password with every client.
- Flood-protection banner and security monitoring in the admin area.
Android-only extras
The Android app has its own set of additions: plan detection that turns "lunch Friday at 12:30" into a calendar event, one-tap verification-code copying, an app PIN lock, and a built-in updater. See the app page for the full list.
